Theatre Posters. new

after much feedback i have tweeeked and changed the posters.

Theatre Posters.

My current University project is to design a set of four posters advertising Theatre Productions.

The four plays I will be designing for are
"They Shoot Horses, Don't They?"
"The Naked Civil Servant."
"Under Milk Wood "
"Talking Heads"

i chose to design for a new professional production company that will be based at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle, they are largely focussed on the work of twentieth-century playwrights. Miller, Pinter, Steinbeck, Stoppard, etc.

at the moment, as usual these days i am waaaay behind in terms of my work output, i feel i have more or less come to a strong solution to "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?".

abstract fluid shapes quashed together all facing in the same direction. culminating in the face of a horse. this is trying to represent the bitter struggle the contestants have to go through in the competition.

the hand making the shape of the "gun" again i was worried about making the poster too literal.

Competitive Sports.

FA Cup: Tottenham 2-2 Leeds - as it happened

Jermaine Beckford scored a penalty in the sixth minute of injury time to earn Leeds a replay in a breathtaking match.
In Fight Club, Tyler Durden says that "it's only after you've lost everything that you're free to do anything." Leeds fans probably know what he means.
crammed into our relatively small Flat in Newcastle, the house was full. no less than 7 Leeds fans had made the trip up the M1 to visit our home. In all the Chaos and chanting i managed to pick out a 100% golden nugget of a comment from the mass of voices. For me, it prity well sums up the underlying principle of Competitive Sports as a whole. A group of people at their athletic height battling it our in order to see who will be crowned the champion.

"FIGHT, FIGHT! SEE WHO'S THE BEST!".
